I stopped by the Christian Louboutin boutique in West Village with my bestie. We were dazzled by the shoes and the cute windows. We went window shopping to kill time before dinner!

The atmosphere in Manhattan and even the West Village is so different than Los Angeles and Beverly Hills and it sparked my artistic side. I didn't want to leave New York since I was having the best time visiting my husband, his chocolate factory and for our Torres and Torres Chocolate class at the De Gustibus Cooking School. Yet at the same time, I was looking forward to going back to my own shop Madame Chocolat so I can be in my chocolate factory to work on some new chocolate heels.

All I have been thinking about day and night is chocolate heels. I'm so proud to debut the Madame Chocolat 2010 Shoe Collection...complete with sunglasses and purse!

Being in New York, I was motivated by the new Sex and the City movie coming out at the end of May, so it inspired me to make chocolate shoes following the designers who I consider fashion legends: Valentino, Monolo Blahnik, Chanel, and Christian Louboutin. Every woman deserves a pair of high-fashion designer shoes, right? I think so!

Everything is made of chocolate. Each shoe, purse, sunglasses, bonbons and chocolate vanity tray (that the entire collection actually sits on) are handmade by me in chocolate and I carefully decorate each one. Yup! I'm the only one in my chocolate factory making these... and I LOVE IT!

"Valentino" inspired...I think this would be great for the fabulous Kimora Lee Simmons. I love her and watch her show Life in the Fab Lane all the time!

"Monolo Blahnik" inspired really reminds me of Sex and the City. I wanted to go by the boutique when I was in Manhattan but didn't have time. Next visit for sure.

"Chanel" inspired. This is my favorite out of all four. I remember talking on the phone when I was making the flower. I'm so proud of this shoe and I love all the glitter...of course it's edible!

"Christian Louboutin": I had to do a peep toe shoe! Figuring out how to mold this heel in chocolate was a challenge but when I figured it out, I was really impressed.

Of course, no fashion design is complete without a photo shoot! Thank you so much to Todd and Diane for shooting these photos. The photos totally capture my love for chocolate and fashion. You both are amazing. Also, thank you Lauren for introducing them to me.

The Madame Chocolat 2010 Shoe Collection is available only in store at Madame Chocolat 212 N. Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. I can't ship them because they are so fragile! But you can always go to my website www.madame-chocolat.com to check out all the gifts we can ship. The mahogany heart shaped wood box is very popular. What mom doesnt like chocolate inside a jewlery box????

Dont forget to follow me on Twitter! I have a bunch of contests to win FREE CHOCOLATE! You can also win the peep toe chocolate shoe set with our Facebook Mother's Day contest! Good luck everyone!

I wish all of you the best Mother's Day with love, laughter and memories with CHOCOLATE.

BUILDING AND DÉCOR
Materials: American Clay, no VOC paint, sustainable insulation recycled ceiling material, reclaimed finishes, recycled glass tile, reclaimed barn wood recycled fiberglass insulation, beeswax finishes, local limestone.
Heating/Air Conditioning: Energy efficient units from Carrier, natural ventilation.
Lighting: High-efficiency choices, LEDs, metal halide, compact fluorescents.
Furniture: Organic leather, hemp fabric, sustainable wood.
Bathrooms: Reclaimed wood stalls, waterless urinals, auto shut off sinks, biodegradable soap, high post-consumer toilet paper / paper towels.
Equipment: Energy Star certified appliances.
Flooring: Natural ceramic tile made from sand.
Cleaning Products: 100% biodegradable products.
Dishwashing: 100% biodegradable products.

We share the same restaurant designer, Alexis Readinger of Preen. Akasha and Madame Chocolat's interiors are nothing alike so Alexis does an amazing job delivering different visions of style and ambiance.

I ordered the Pan Roasted Jidori Chicken with braised greens, cipollini, roast mushrooms, carrots. I asked our waitress what "jidori" meant. She said “Jidori” is a Japanese term and the simplest translation means “chicken of the earth.” That was great to know. We were thinking it referred to a spice or flavor for the chicken. I was really hungry and couldn't wait to dig in. Of course I had to order iced tea! The chicken had so much flavor and the broth was savory. The fish special was also a great choice.

Of course you can't forget dessert. This chocolate "candy bar" was amazing. The texture of the peanuts added a great roasted crunch against the rich chocolate. Please try Akasha and next time I go, I'll make sure to let the Chef know! Shhhh....

The evening began slowly, with invitees strolling in, looking eager but cautious because they didn't know what to expect. The truth is--- neither did I. This was the first Industry Night I ever had at my store! I watched as guests mulled through the boutique examining all the contents that I pour my heart into. One by one, I watched as guests got more excited over my chocolate creations; it is always a little nerve racking wondering if guests will love the factory and boutique as much as I do.

It wasn't long before the room was filled with respected bloggers including Estarla, Pardon my Crumbs (Fight on!), Pleasure Palate, Shop Eat Sleep, Food Fashionista, Chocolate Snob, LA Dessert Examiner, The Roaming Belly, and Uncouth Gourmands. I shared stories about my love for chocolate especially the animals for spring and how you can get creative with the Easter holiday coming up. I also talked about my inspiration for the factory and boutique design, my culinary background and French influence, and they also wanted to know about how I met my husband Jacques Torres-- "Mr. Chocolate."

Once we all got to know each other, guests were free to explore the factory and boutique. Then everyone began clicking away, taking pictures of all the hidden treasures I have inside the shop. As you can see, the store is ready for Spring and intricately decorated with bright yellows, pinks, spring baskets, eggs, and Easter inspired chocolate by my Mom.

Next, I invited everyone back to the factory portion of Madame Chocolat where we began our chocolate and wine pairing. Guests got cozy in between the large steel tables. I just unmolded giant centerpiece bunnies so they were waiting in the factory for me to decorate. I just finished decorating the bunnies very early Monday morning! Production is busy right now so fitting in such a big artisan project was tough, but I got it done!

When everyone was gathered around-- I just went for it. The wine poured and complimentary bonbons were passed around for tasting. I instructed people how to savor the chocolate and took note as to what flavors they experienced and liked the best. Guests were very vocal, explaining every burst and asking in depth questions from chocolate production to seasonal flavors. We had three pairings; white, milk and dark chocolate, with several selections within each category. Some of the bon bons that were tried were Jus d'orange, Cafe, Amour, Mademoiselle, Monsieur, and Ooh La La. All seemed to be well received.

The energy in the shop was amazing, which makes me so happy! This night the (chocolate) stars were aligned because the night flowed effortlessly and all the guests seemed to talk to one another as if they have known each other for years. A glass of wine was accidently knocked over a platter of dark chocolate mendiants, but that's perfectly fine...I packaged all the chocolate up for our guest to take home and enjoy! The factory was filled with chocolate lovers, smiles and laughter; a chocolatier's dream. All in all, I can safely say the night was a success and I have made some new friends that I hope to see dining out in Los Angeles! Thank you to Lauren of Dossier Event Experiences for coordinating Industry Night. I look forward to spending more evenings like this at Madame Chocolat. When I read the blogs from my guests, I was blown away. It's great to know everyone walked away with happy memories and of course a small gift bag of my favorite chocolate coated treats like Milk Chocolate Coated cheerios and Chocolate Krispy Coconut Delights!

Nobody needs to wait for a special event to come to Madame Chocolat! The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10am - 6pm so please come on in. If you don't like chocolate, please note that we also have a cafe serving coffee and tea and we also offer fresh baked croissants too.
